We may not be able to change the things that have happened to us, but we can certainly grow and heal from them.
I am a therapist. Who ALSO has a therapist and has been through the process of finding/seeing therapists. I get it. It isn't easy but it is worth it. My view of counseling is simple, and based upon three core principles: authenticity, (being true to oneself), honesty, and growth. I seek to provide a nonjudgmental ear, and a supportive, safe presence. My goal is for you to feel heard as well as empowered by knowledge and skills to recognize your worth and embody change. I prefer working with adult clients who are ready and willing to put in work toward change and self-improvement.
I understand pain and have been there. I utilize a trauma informed lens in my sessions to help identify areas that may be related toward difficulties and develop support for future endeavors. I focus first and foremost on developing a therapeutic relationship to create safety for vulnerability.
I view this process as sacred, and consider it an honor to be invited to accompany you on your journey!
